What makes my jewelry distinct is the intricate weaving and structuring of gemstones, resulting in beautiful and bold designs. Each piece is thoroughly planned, from an initial vision sketch to color combinations and use of materials. Materials include raw gemstones from India, African trade beads, raw brass, recycled glass, and charms made by a community workshop in Mexico that focuses on lifting women and men out of poverty. All pieces are entirely original to Evita Mia Designs and no detail is ever overlooked. Everything is created with lots of imagination and detailed integrity, with many items intended to support a cause.
My work reflects the different cultures I’ve experienced and the various creative directions life has taken me. My colorful Colombian heritage and Costa Rican upbringing is a constant source of inspiration for new ideas, and is seen throughout my designs. My jewelry is for those who have deep appreciation for beauty in all its form. Each piece has its own character and charm. Inspired by this idea of individual beauty, Evita Mia Designs produces unique statement pieces. Often raw in beauty, they evoke vibrancy and include intricate detailing. The Passion Behind Our Purpose
5% of Evita Mia Designs sales go to Juanfe a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life of children and teenage mothers in poverty conditions mainly in the city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
About the Artist
Born in California to Colombian parents, I moved to Costa Rica at the age of twelve. While I haven’t always felt rooted in one place, or culture, I have felt a calling to do something with my life by creating, loving, and giving back.
After attending fashion school, I moved to a remote beach, Santa Teresa, and discovered the beauty of nature on my daily walks. I was surrounded by nature, humid salt air, and howling monkeys. It is here that I also discovered a new calling. Starting with riverbed rocks and seashells, I began crafting original jewelry pieces. My work was raw and I spent countless hours teaching myself the intricate details of working with wire and beads. I loved playing with form and incorporated new elements into my designs. From there, my love for jewelry making was born.
This interest grew slowly as I transitioned through creative career changes, but once I became a mother, I knew that designing jewelry was not only my passion, but also my purpose. A business that could graciously give back – a value that I am lucky to share with my son. The most important beliefs in my life are to live with intention and to give back. I believe in having dreams, setting goals, and working towards them every single day. I am here to serve and am very passionate about what I do. With an open heart and open hands, I work with intention through my designs and create every item with love to give joy.

I want people to feel inspired by my jewelry, just as I was inspired to set out on this creative path. Inspiration for my work is often found in the Latin culture and I possess an enduring love for raw stones, in all their hues, shapes, and sizes. I truly believe there is beauty in everything we see – just open your eyes and look around. I am very fortunate to do what I love every day and especially fortunate to share it with you.
